Dear applicants,
All visa applications are processed exclusively in the Visa Department of the German Embassy in Moscow.
When submitting documents at VisaMetric offices in St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and Novosibirsk, the documents need to be sent to Moscow, which may increase the overall processing time.
From the 01.01.2026 on, Russian citizens will on principle require a biometric Russian external passport to enter Germany. Non-biometric (5-years) external passport cannot be used anymore unless they contain a German visa which remains valid. Detailed information can be found by following the link.
Schengen Visa Appointment:
Appointment confirmation is completed upon successful online payment of the service fee.
Before starting the appointment booking process, we recommend having a valid bank card ready for online payment.
Payment can be made using bank cards issued in the Russian Federation, as well as certain foreign bank cards. Please note: The use of bank cards issued outside the Russian Federation is limited. Therefore, most foreign-issued cards cannot be used for online payment.
Important Information:
- If the incorrect visa type is selected, VisaMetric staff will not be able to accept your documents.
- Once an appointment is made, it cannot be rescheduled. In case of cancellation or failure to appear on the appointed day, the service fee is non-refundable.
- Please carefully verify all your details when creating the appointment.
National Visa Appointment:
To submit documents, you need to register in the waiting list via the Embassy's booking system. Appointments are made in chronological order.
Important Information:
- Provide accurate and complete personal details when making the appointment.
- VisaMetric is not responsible for applications submitted through travel agencies or third-party service providers.
- Be cautious of fraudsters offering paid services to create appointments at the visa center.
To submit your application, please register through the online appointment booking system on the Visametric website. Appointments are only available after the online payment of the established service fee.
Important: The appointment cannot be rescheduled. In case of cancellation or failure to appear on the day of document submission, the paid service fee is non-refundable.
Before booking an appointment please note:
- You can submit your application for a Schengen visa no earlier than 6 months before the beginning of your trip.
- Prepare the required documents in advance and submit them on the appointed day.
- If you already have an existing appointment, a second one cannot be booked with same details.
- Students who are enrolled in institutions abroad and would like to submit an application for a visa to Germany can do so in the country where they are currently studying and living.
It is possible to make the following changes to the appointment:

Before booking an appointment for National Visa please note:
- To apply for a national visa, documents can be submitted no earlier than 3 months before the start of the planned trip.
- Prepare the required documents in advance and submit them on the appointed day.

- Please note that in order to apply for a national visa, the personal presence of each applicant older than 12 years is required, since on the day of submission of documents, the fingerprinting procedure takes place.
