Submission/collection process

Submission of documents

An applicant over the age of 18 can apply for a visa in person.

If biometrics were taken earlier:

by a notarized power of attorney (without the right of transfer):

The authorized representative must provide the original notarized power of attorney with an indication that the authorized representative is authorized by the applicant to submit documents at the German Visa Application Center.

• For children under 18 years of age, one parent or guardian can submit documents when providing a birth certificate (original + copy). In this case, he/she will also need to provide a notarized power of attorney (without the right of transfer) from the second parent to submit documents to the German Visa Center for a visa for a child.

Important:

In case of joint submission of applicants who are members of the same family or a group of persons traveling together and on the same dates:

Each member of the group/family that will be included in the agreement must provide a VisaMetric form to submit and collect documents in the name of the main person of the group/family (the customer of the agreement).

Please note that the customer for whom the agreement is drawn up must be part of a group /family and go on a trip together with them.

Otherwise, a notarized power of attorney will be required when submitted by a third party or by an applicant who is not going on a joint trip.

With this type of submission, when submitting the application the authorized person/ customer under the agreement, must provide:

- VisaMetric power of Attorney form filled in by the applicant with signature (original),

- a copy of the internal identity card of the principal and the authorized person (photo page),

- the original of the authorized person's internal identity card.

• If the documents are not submitted by parents or legal guardians for minor applicants, a notarized power of attorney for a third party from both parents is required. The power of attorney must be executed according to the internal identity documents of the authorized person and the principal.

Additionally, you must provide a copy of the internal identity document of the parent or legal guardian (photo page) who signed the power of attorney, a copy of the internal identity document of the authorized person (photo page), the original and a copy of the child's birth certificate.

For the creation of the agreement, when submitting documents, the person for whom the agreement will be made must have the original of the internal document or residence permit/registration (for foreign citizens).

Collection of documents

• The passport and accompanying documentation can be obtained personally by the person for whom the agreement was created (the "customer" field in the client agreement). Mandatory documents for collection: a client agreement, an internal document certifying the identity of the recipient (or a document for which the contract was issued, for example: a residence permit for foreign citizens).

• By a third party (other than the customer), receipt is possible only by a notarized power of attorney. Mandatory documents for collection: client agreement, internal document certifying the recipient's identity (original + copy of the page with photo), notarized power of attorney for collection of documents at the Visa Center (original + copy).

In case of refund of funds for the visa fee deu to the request from the Embassy of Germany or the Consulate General of Germany, a notarized power of attorney must also state that the authorized representative is authorized on behalf of the Applicant to receive funds under the agreement.

In the absence of this expression of will in a notarized power of attorney, funds cannot be issued to an authorized person.

• In the case of a group/family agreement, only the person specified in the agreement as the customer can pick up all passports and accompanying documentation. Mandatory documents for collection: a client agreement, an internal document certifying the identity of the recipient (or a document for which the agreement was made, for example: a residence permit for foreign citizens).

If the collection for the whole group / family is made by another person, then a notarized power of attorney from the customer to a third party is required and contain not only a permit to issue the customer's passport, but also for all applicants under the agreement.

• For minor applicants, documents can only be collected by a parent or legal guardian specified in the client agreement as the customer. Mandatory documents for collection: a client agreement, an internal document certifying the identity of the recipient (or a document for which the contract was issued, for example: a residence permit for foreign citizens). Otherwise, the rules for collection of documents for a minor child are identical to the rules for collection of documents by third parties.
