Important note on appointment scheduling and visa application for the Western Balkans regulation

Starting June 1, 2024, you have the opportunity to expedite your visa process considerably by securing pre-approval: Your future employer will apply for approval from the Federal Employment Agency before you schedule a visa application appointment. Once your future employer has obtained pre-approval from the Federal Employment Agency, you can schedule an appointment and apply for the visa by presenting the pre-approval.

National Visa:

Under the National Visa category, you can book an appointment for the following travel purposes:

  • Long Stay Other Beschv
  • Elderly care in the area of health, sickness and geriatric care (nursing assistant)
  • Cruise ship employees
  • Western Balkans regulations
  • Professional Drivers
  • Long Stay Contract Worker
  • Short-term quota employment
  • Student visa (without scholarship)

Schengen Visa:

Under the Schengen Visa category, you can book an appointment for the following travel purposes:

  • Visit (less than 90 days)

  • Business (less than 90 days)

  • Medical Treatment (less than 90 days)

  • Short Stay Contract Worker

  • Schengen Tourist
