In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, applicants are informed about the processing of personal data in relation to visa applications submitted through the German Embassy in Dublin.

Personal data provided during the visa application process is processed for the purpose of ensuring the proper handling and assessment of the application, in line with the applicable legal requirements. The Federal Foreign Office and the German missions abroad remain responsible for the processing of personal data. Where certain steps of the visa application process are carried out by an external service provider, personal data may be collected by or transmitted to the service provider only to the extent required for the completion of the process.

Applicants are encouraged to review the official GDPR information notice before submitting their application. The notice includes details on the categories of data processed, the legal basis for processing, data retention periods, possible recipients of the data, and the rights of applicants under the GDPR.
