I have received a written declaration commitment, valid for 90 days / six months, but I would like to apply for a two-year visa, is that possible?

Yes, but only the first 90 days are financially insured according to the declaration of commitment statement. For the remaining period of the desired visa, you must additionally confirm your financial capabilities. It is also necessary to check your financial capabilities, especially bank statements for the last 3-6 months, which show how much income you receive monthly and that you can financially support yourself for a longer stay abroad.

What should we do if, for example, the surname is misspelled in the declaration of commitment?

While the identity of the invited and invitees is unmistakably identified, the different spelling of the surname in the declaration of commitment from the passport does not result in refusal of entry into the country at the border.

Me/my guest was required to submit documents that are not included to the list of required documents, why?

The Embassy always makes decisions according to each specific situation. The cheklist of documents can only include general information covering most, but not all, the possible cases. Consequently, a document not included in the list might be required. This doesn't mean that a visa cannot be issued.

My application was rejected, what can my host from Germany do?

Your inviting party, like you, can write to the embassy and ask for clarification and / or re-examination of a negative decision. In this case, the indicated reasons should also be taken into account when obtaining a passport. Your host must in any case provide a power of attorney signed by you authorizing them to receive information about the visa procedure on your behalf.

If the embassy cannot agree with your host's explanation, then your host will receive a detailed written explanation by mail, which can be submitted to the Administrative Court in Berlin."

I have in my hand the statement of commitment for the applicant, in which my financial situation was proven. However, the application was rejected due to doubts about the applicant’s readiness to return (home). But with a statement of commitment, I guarantee that the person will leave Germany?

Acceptance of the statement of commitment guarantees only the financing of the applicant in Germany. It is not possible to provide an applicant return guarantee. This issue can only be resolved after verifying the applicant's identity.
