1. How can I check the status of my application?

 

This information is available on our website in the Application Status section. For verification, it is necessary to enter the date of birth of the applicant and the corresponding identification number specified in the agreement.


 

2. How can I collect my passport?

 

Collecting the passport after consideration is possible only in the following ways:

  • Delivery to your address via Fox-Express courier service (at courier service rates) if this service was requested on the day of submission of documents;
  • If the documents were submitted before June 1, 2023, the completed documents are received at the German Visa Application Center where the documents and passport were submitted;
  • If the documents were submitted after June 1, 2023, the completed documents are received at the Visa Center of Moscow (Free of charge).

After the verification process at the German embassy, you will receive a notification that the passport has been returned to the VisaMetric office. You must collect your passport at the VisaMetric office within 45 calendar days. You can find the working hours of the office on our website in the section VisaMetric Offices. If you requested a delivery service when applying for a visa, then at the moment when your documents are transferred to the courier service, you will also receive an email notification.


 

3. Can someone else collect my passport?

 

A passport can be obtained by the person for whom the contract was issued on the day of submission of documents (the "Customer" field in the agreement) upon presentation of the originals of this contract and the identity card for which it was issued. Third parties can obtain passports at the visa application center on the basis of a notarized power of attorney from the customer. In this case, when collecting passports, the third party must have an identification documents, the customer's contract with the visa center and the original notarized power of attorney from the customer to obtain passports at the visa center, indicating the data of all persons whose passports were submitted for a visa.


 

4. Can I change the delivery address after submitting the documents?

 

The address specified in the application for the courier service cannot be changed.


 

5. How can I track the delivery of my passport?

 

You can track the delivery status using the information provided in the email that is sent to you by the courier company after the passport is received by the delivery service.


 

6. I received a long-term Schengen visa for one year, with the number of days of stay "90" and the number of entries "MULT". What does it mean?

 

This is a Schengen visa, valid for one year, and allows you to stay in the Schengen area for up to 90 days during a six-month period with the possibility of multiple entry. The days of stay are calculated by summing up the days spent in the Schengen area over the last 180 days.

7. I have an urgent need to go on a business trip to another country, but my passport is still in the German Embassy. Can I withdraw my application?

 

It is possible to request the return of documents from the German Embassy in emergency cases. You need to contact the VisaMetric office where you applied for a visa.


 

8. I have received a single-entry visa. Can I travel freely in the Schengen area or do I have to stay in only one country?

 

A single-entry Schengen visa gives you the right to enter the territory of the Schengen countries only once. If you travel from Germany to another Schengen country within the framework of one trip without leaving the Schengen area, this will not be considered re-entry.


 

9. I found an error in my visa. What should I do?

 

When receiving a passport, please carefully check all the details on the visa. If an error is detected, you must immediately contact VisaMetric.


 

10. I was incorrectly informed by someone (a third party) who promised me that I could get a visa and filled out my application. My visa application was refused, what should I do now?

 

You are personally responsible for the information provided in your application.

The German Embassy in the Russian Federation informs applicants and third parties applying on behalf of applicants that any false data may cause the refusal or cancellation of an already issued visa. Please provide only correct and reliable information.

If someone has guaranteed you a visa, then this information is unreliable.

Don't let anyone convince you that a "professionally completed" application can guarantee you a visa - no one can promise you that your visa will be approved! Only the German Embassy decides whether a visa will be issued.


 

11. Will the fees be refunded in case of refusal?

 

In case of visa refusal, the fees are non-refundable.

Fees do not depend on the decision on the application and are charged to cover administrative operating costs.


 

12. The reason for the refusal to issue a visa is not clear to me. Where can I find more information?

13. I understand the reason for the refusal, but I still want to go to Germany. Can I apply again?

 

You can always submit a new visa application. Book an appointment and prepare all the necessary documents in accordance with the purpose of your trip.

Each applicant has the right to apply for paid legal assistance and appeal the decision in court.

 


 

14. How can I leave feedback about the visa application process at the VisaMetric office?

 

Persons who have applied for a Schengen visa through VisaMetric offices can leave feedback about the visa application process or about VisaMetric employees using the Contact Form.

Please note that the decision on the issuance of a visa or refusal to issue a visa, on the timing of consideration of an application for a visa to Germany is in the exclusive competence of the German Embassy.
