Dear applicants,

Starting on November 18th, 2021 to the Visametric Visa Center will be admitting the applicants only, and such persons are obliged to provide one of the below indicated documents (the rule touches the applicants starting 12 y.o.):

  • Vaccination full course confirmation against Covid-19, the last shot of which was made not later than 14 days before the Visa Center visiting with one of the recognized by the EU-countries vaccines. A “Diia” or Covidpass apps QR-codes or vaccination books are required;
  • Covid-19 recovery confirmation:A positive PCR test performed at least 28 days and a maximum of 6 months before the Visa Application Center visit;
  • Covid-19 negative test result:The testing should be performed in the laboratory by rapid antigen testing (not earlier than in 48 hours) or PCR testing (not earlier than in 72 hours).

The above indicated rules have no exceptions. Confirmation of antibodies, self-tests, etc. are not recognized.

Schengen Visa (for stay up to 90 days)

According to Schengen rules, applicants have to apply for a visa in the country which can be identified as the main destination of their journey. In case Germany is not the main destination, the applicant should apply for a visa at a relevant Diplomatic Mission.


The new Visa Code will enter into force as from 02.02.2020.

• From 02.02.2020, applications can be submitted six months before the start of the trip. Up to now, applications could be submitted a maximum of three months before the start of the trip.
• Applications should be submitted at least
15 calendar days before the start of the planned trip.
• The fee for processing a visa application is increased from 60 Euro to
80 Euro. The fee for children between 6 and 12 years is increased from 35 Euro to 40 Euro. For Ukrainian citizens the visa fees do not change because of the existing visa facilitation agreement.


A Schengen visa is needed when you are visiting one or several of the countries of the Schengen Area (i.e. Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic. Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Hungary). The duration of your total stay in Schengen countries shall not exceed 90 days in a period of 6 months, starting from the date of first entry.

You may apply for a Schengen visa at the Germany Visa Application Centers if:

  • You need a visa to enter a Schengen Territory, and namely you are a citizen of the country which is in the list of visa requirement to visit the Schengen Member States. You will find an overview on visa requirements here.

Information on visa waiver for Ukrainian nationals with biometric passports

  • The country of your permanent stay is Ukraine. The permanent stay is considered if you are staying in Ukraine at least 6 months (for example, with the purpose of study, work, etc.)
  • Your main destination (the Schengen country where you will spend the longest time) is Germany, or
  • You are spending the same amount of days in several Schengen countries, but Germany is your first port of entry into the Schengen Area.
  • Your planned trip starts not later than in 3 months.
  • You are neither planning to work nor to stay in Germany for a long term period.

Please note: the Embassy of Germany in Ukraine does not process the applications of the Ukrainian citizens who permanently stay abroad. Please turn to the competent German authority according to your place of residence.

How to Apply for Schengen Visa?

Before the submission:

Submission process:

  • Reviewing of the provided documents and biometric data collection take place in one of the VisaMetric Visa Application Centers; applications will then be forwarded to the relevant Diplomatic Mission.
  • Pay applicable Fees. (Submission Officer will advise you on total payable amount and guide you to the cashier where you need to pay in local currency.)

After the submission:

  • You can track you application on our website.
  • During the submission process you can opt for the delivery of the passport by a courier service company. After your application has been reviewed by the Embassy/Consulate, your passport will be delivered to the address provided by you.
