1. When should I submit my visa application?
For Schengen visas (stays less than 90 days), you must apply no more than 180 days before the start date of the trip, while for National visas (stays more than 90 days, you must apply no more than 90 days before the start date of the trip.
2. Can I apply without submitting my passport?
No, your passport is the first document submitted during a visa application. Therefore, it should be submitted to our Visamtric office to be delivered to the Consulate
3. Why are my fingerprints required for a Schengen visa?
The 28 countries of the Schengen Agreement decided to obtain biometric data (fingerprint records) of all applicants from Iran as of 25 September 2014. The data obtained shall be used for European Visa Information System (VIS). Italy Visa Departments are bound by the said European regulation and responsible for its implementation.
If the applicant has obtained a Schengen visa within the past 59 months (4 years and 11 months), the fingerprints should not be collected. However, if the applicant cannot provide the information of that visa (photocopy of the visa or indication of visa's data on the application form), it is preferable to collect fingerprints."
4. Where are my fingerprints taken?
Your fingerprints are taken at Visametric offices during personal applications to be submitted to the Ambessy/Consulate's Information System. Information.
5. Should I have to be fingerprinted for each Schengen visa application?
Yes, according to the Italian Embassy, fingerprinting is necessary for every visa application. In exceptional cases, at the request of the consulate, Visametric may need to take your fingerprints again.
6.My visa application was rejected, are the fingerprints I provided still valid?
No, fingerprinting is necessary for every visa application.
7.Can I come to VisaMetric for application without making an appointment?
There is no possibility to apply for visa without appointment reservation and all the applicants should have an appointment at time referring to Visametric.
8.How can I make an appointment for my application from VisaMetric?
Appointments are assigned through registering in VisaMetric’s website. https://www.visametric.com/iran/Italy/en/p/book-an-appointment It is possible for you to contact with the Embassy in emergency and special cases.
9.Where can I pay the visa fee and VisaMetric service fee?
After completing the visa application process at the Visametric office, the fees for all types of visa applications are paid in our Cash desk.

11.I am an Iranian citizen (I hold an Iranian passport) but I reside in a country outside the Schengen zone with a residence permit. Where should I apply for a Italy’s Schengen visa?
You must apply through the country in which you have resided the longest.
