1. How long should the validity of my passport be in order to be able to apply?

For German Schengen visa applications, you should have a passport obtained within the last 10 years and valid for at least 3 months after the scheduled departure date from Schengen countries.

 


 

2. What is a Schengen visa?

Schengen Visa (C type) is the type of visa which should be obtained when you want to travel anywhere in the Schengen Zone for up to 90 days within the validity period of the visa decided upon by the Consulates. C type visa does not give the holder residency rights. Please use the Calculator of travel days remaining under a Schengen short-stay visa to check if you can apply for a visa.

 


 

3. What countries are included in the Schengen area?    

Schengen visa is valid for the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

 


 

4. When should I apply for a Schengen visa?

You may apply for a Schengen visa maximum 180 days before your trip begins. If there are more than 180 days before your trip begins, you may not apply for visa. We recommend that you follow our announcements and public holidays from our website and determine when to make your appointment accordingly.

 


 

5. I would like to visit different Schengen countries during my trip. Can I submit the application to the German Embassy?

You can submit the application to the German Embassy if you are planning to spend more time in Germany than in any other Schengen countriy. If you plan to spend the same number of days in two different Schengen countries, then you should apply for the visa at the Embassy of the country that you will visit first.

 


 

6. Why can't I find an appointment date? Why can't I schedule an earlier appointment?

VisaMetric can only offer appointments to the extent permitted by the embassy. VisaMetric has no influence on appointment dates/numbers of appointments.
